My name is Kevin John. I first began my journey in instrument repair nearly a decade ago under Luthier Jeremy Behn at Mountain Fruit Folklore Centre in Kaslo, British Columbia. Working with Jeremy I quickly gained in skill and reputation. Together we loyally served musicians and their instruments throughout and beyond the West Kootenays. When Jeremy closed shop back in 2021 it was clear that there was still a great need for a professional instrument repair service in our area. So the end of Mountain Fruit Folklore Centre became the beginning of my own business.

As the Kootenay Guitar Doctor I am proud to carry on the legacy of high-quality craftsmanship and customer service that is the hallmark of my trade, and of my mentor and friend Jeremy Behn. Each client and each instrument is unique, with individual needs, and I am here to help you get the most out of your instrument!
